This exhibition will be held at Akima Orchard, a renovated old house in Akima Plum Grove, Annaka City, Gunma Prefecture. Mana Konishi’s series of oil on canvas paintings of birds killed by ‘window strikes’, (birds by collision with windows) The Crash project is a collaboration of art and ornithology… the birds were killed by flying into the windows at Annakaorchard then photographed by the owner. The objective of the Crash project was for the paintings to preserve the beauty of the birds and retain their relationship with the house and its surroundings.
